We are here to encourage, archive and propagate any and all Dead Like Me Fanwork.
This does include:
fanfiction, be it a one-shot, general, het, slash, femmeslash, crossover—anything goes, really, and this does include real-person and mature-rated fanfiction, as long as it’s properly labeled, and if it’s RPF, properly and fully disclaimed. The one thing we cannot allow directly posting to this community is fiction about minors engaging in explicit sexual situations, due to uncertainty over LiveJournal policy, but at the same time, we won’t be hunting for it. Label wisely.
fic recommendations, please do share the love :)
fanvids, based on the show, the universe, or RPF relationships between the actors/actresses, etc.
fan mixes, based on the show, the universe, or RPF relationships between the actors/actresses, etc.
fan art, based on the show, the universe, or RPF relationships between the actors/actresses, etc.
meta discussion, be it about the universe, a character, a pairing, etc.
This does not include:
information about the actors or their current projects
off-topic posts (any posts that doesn’t have anything to do with DLM or posts for memes, quizzes, etc.)
Any posts along these lines will be considered off-topic. Please refer to the Newbie Guide for communities oriented towards these purposes.
| Rules and policies for the community and posting |
First and foremost: Be polite and respectful. Flaming and harassment will NOT be tolerated in any way, shape, or form.
Constructive criticism is welcomed as long as you follow our number one rule up above.
LJ-cut. All fiction, fanmixes, and large images must be LJ-cut. If you’re unsure, cut it. If you don’t know how to make an LJ-cut, read the FAQ here. Fake-cuts are totally welcome, as is linking to fic off of LiveJournal.
Tags. After you’ve made a post, click on “edit post” and then click on the icon that says “edit tags.” There will be a list of available tags for you to choose from. Once you’ve made more than one post, an author tag with your LiveJournal username will be listed. If you’re not sure what to tag your entry, please don’t worry—a mod will do it for you. The tags index is also a good way to browse through past posts; posts are tagged according to author, character, pairing, length and rating.
Memories. Entries are placed in the memories according to the same criteria as the tagging system. The memories index is also a great way to find archived posts.
This information will help a mod properly tag your post. However, if you will be tagging your own posts, you’re completely welcome to shorten/condense this format. However, regardless of who tags your post: rating, pairing, and any warnings still must be clearly listed. Other categories, like genre and title, etc., are optional.
